About Convex
Convex was built to solve a problem that has persisted in financial markets for decades: the analytical tools and cross-asset intelligence that institutional macro desks rely on have remained inaccessible to the broader investment community. Hedge fund research teams synthesize hundreds of data sources into a coherent market view every day. Independent investors, analysts, and smaller firms are left piecing together the same picture from fragmented sources.
Convex changes that. We operate an AI-powered research desk that ingests over 671 live economic indicators, from Federal Reserve data and Treasury auctions to CFTC positioning and on-chain blockchain analytics, and synthesizes them into daily, institutional-quality macro analysis. Our proprietary systematic analytical engine combines macro-economic frameworks, quantitative models, and live data ingestion. The result: timely, rigorous, data-driven analysis available to anyone, for free.
Who Built This
Convex was built by Ben Bleier, a Tech Delivery Lead by background — a software builder, not a CFA, not a former hedge-fund analyst. The motivation was straightforward: institutional macro desks synthesize hundreds of data sources into a coherent view every morning, and retail investors are forced to pay institutional prices to see the same picture or piece it together themselves from fragmented sources. The numbers should be free. The synthesis should be free. So Convex makes them free.
The actual analysis on this site is generated by the Convex Research Desk — an AI editorial system instrumented with quality gates, fabrication validators, proprietary-data density checks, and topic-balance enforcement. Ben designs those gates, audits the output, and signs off on what gets published. Every article is co-attributed ("By Convex Research Desk · Edited by Ben Bleier") so the dual roles are transparent.
Numbers on every page are verified against primary sources — FRED series IDs, ICE BofA OAS spreads, CME settlement, EIA inventories, CFTC Commitments of Traders — on the date shown. Series IDs are surfaced on every page so anyone can replicate the data themselves. Mistakes get logged in the corrections record and fixed in the same place readers found them.
The Research Desk
All analysis published on Convex is produced by the Convex Research Desk, our AI-powered editorial system. The Research Desk operates continuously, monitoring economic data releases, central bank communications, geopolitical developments, and cross-asset signals. When our significance scoring system identifies a development worth analyzing, the Research Desk produces a piece, drawing on the full breadth of our data pipeline and analytical framework.
Every article undergoes automated fact-checking against our live data sources, relevance scoring, editorial review for coherence and accuracy, and deduplication checks before publication. Articles that fail any quality gate are rejected and never published. Read more about our process on the editorial standards page.

Proprietary Indices
Beyond daily analysis, Convex computes three proprietary macro indices from our live data pipeline. These indices distill complex, multi-dimensional economic data into single signals that inform our analysis and are available on the platform:
Composite probability estimate drawing from the yield curve, the Sahm Rule, initial claims, credit spreads, and the Leading Economic Index.
Tracks the net flow of central bank liquidity into financial markets, computed as Fed balance sheet minus reverse repo minus the Treasury General Account.
Cross-asset risk appetite measured from 5 ETF price ratio z-scores spanning small-cap-vs-large-cap (IWM/SPY), high-yield-vs-investment-grade (HYG/LQD), discretionary-vs-staples (XLY/XLP), emerging-markets-vs-developed (EEM/EFA), and banks-vs-broad-equity (KRE/SPY).
The Platform
Convex is free during beta. The public site offers daily editorial analysis, interactive charts for 671 economic indicators with historical data, a comprehensive finance glossary, in-depth strategy guides, scenario analysis tools, and a live market feed. All content is accessible without an account.
Behind the login, registered users can access AI-generated trade signals with entry, target, and invalidation levels, portfolio thesis tracking, forecast calibration scoring, walk-forward backtesting, and strategy analysis across all seven desks.
